Does WARDOGS have controller support?

Not officially. WARDOGS is not listed with controller support in its Steam categories, and Bulkhead has not announced it. Playtesters report that gamepads work in practice without being officially supported. Because Bulkhead has confirmed it plans to release on Xbox and PlayStation, full controller support is expected eventually, but no date has been given.

Not officially — but the honest answer has three layers, and most coverage only gives you one.

On paper: no. The WARDOGS Steam page does not list controller support in its categories. For a Steam game that is the closest thing to an official statement, and right now it says no.

In practice: apparently yes, unofficially. Players in the pre-alpha and Closed Alpha tests have repeatedly reported that a gamepad works — one describes playing on an Xbox controller, and another points out a controller visible in one of Bulkhead’s own dev videos. “It functions” and “it is supported” are not the same claim, though. Unsupported controller input typically means no proper aim assist tuning, no in-game rebinding, no glyph prompts, and no guarantee it survives the next patch.

Long term: almost certainly yes. Bulkhead has confirmed it intends to bring WARDOGS to Xbox and PlayStation. You cannot ship on those platforms without full controller support, so this is a question of when, not whether.

What we have not found is any dated commitment from Bulkhead. Second-hand reports say the studio is “already working on it”, but we cannot trace that to an official post, which is why this answer is labelled reported rather than confirmed.

If you want to play with a controller now: treat it as unsupported. It will probably work, it will probably not feel tuned, and you should expect a keyboard-and-mouse lobby to have the advantage in a game this aim-heavy.
