What hangs off the rifle, what each piece weighs, and the one performance trade the game is willing to print — the whole optic list read tile by tile, and every magazine capacity in the alpha build.

Magazines, read off the screen
1 card · the mag already fittedWe did not open the Magazine slot properly — this is the drum that was already on the rifle, read from the strip. It is separated from the rest because of what it prints and nothing else has printed since: a weight, no price of its own, and a CONTAINS block costing the rounds inside it.

Magazines, read out of the build
33 rows · grouped by the weapon named on the tooltipThese come from the alpha build's own item definitions, not from the vendor screen. The capacity, calibre and "X only" lines are the tooltip text verbatim — including the game's own .45 APC where it means .45 ACP, which we have not tidied. 11 of the 33 lost their name in the read and have it rebuilt from the pattern the others print; those are marked on the card. None of them carries a price, so none is published with one.

How to read this
Two slots of 4 are covered, and covered differently. The Optic list was paged end to end on screen — twelve tiles on the first page, one on the second, and the footer counting both — so 13 optics is the list, not a sample of it. The Magazine slot gave us 1 card on screen; the other 33 magazines were read out of the alpha build's own files rather than off the vendor, and every one of them is labelled as such below. The other 2 slots have never been opened.
A file is not a screenshot, and it is not better than one. Reading the build's cooked item definitions gives us the magazine tooltips exactly as written, which is more reliable than squinting at a compressed frame. It says nothing at all about what ships in Early Access — a file proves a magazine existed on 7 August and proves nothing about 10 September. So these rows sit at the same reported grade as everything else here and are never promoted on their own evidence.
We are not publishing a price, including $0. All 13 optic tiles printed $0. That is exactly the reading the first weapons pass produced, and it turned out to be a display fault rather than a price. We could not run the check that caught it — the vendor balance was never in frame — and a real $113 rendered on a magazine in the same minute, so the question is open in both directions. Open means unpublished.
These are the AK74's attachments. The menu was read with an AK74 equipped and one tile says AK74 only in as many words, so the lists are at least partly weapon-gated. Whether these 13 optics travel to an SMG or a sniper rifle is something we have not tested and will not assume.
How attachments work in WARDOGS
Attachments do not have a vendor tab. Each of the three weapon slots — PRIMARY, SIDEARM, SPECIALIST — carries its own AMMO and ATTC. pair, and ATTC. opens a strip of four slots above a filtered item grid. So an optic is bought against a rifle rather than against the loadout, which is a different shape of decision from gear: a backpack competes with every weapon you own, a scope competes only with the other scopes for that gun.
Weight is the number, and it is previewed before you buy
With no price to work from, weight is what the vendor actually gives you — and it is not decoration. The loadout's WEIGHT readout moved as different optics were hovered: 8.7 kg on the VEKTOR FRENIX-X MICRO REFLEX SIGHT at 0.03kg, 8.9 kg on the two mid-weight scopes, 9.0 kg on the CQ-2X. Those solve to a common base of 8.67 kg, so the meter is previewing the hovered optic against the rest of your kit before you commit to it.
The spread is wider than it looks. The VEKTOR FRENIX-X MICRO REFLEX SIGHT is 0.03kg and the SPECTR 4X is 0.66kg — 22× — and magnification is not what drives it. The OKP 7 Reflex is a 1.2x sight that outweighs every magnified scope here except one. The cheap-and-light instinct a player brings from other shooters is simply wrong in this menu.
The ADS trade is signed, and it is the only stat
Every tooltip carries a Pros block or a Cons block, never both, and the line is always about aim-down-sights speed at one of two magnitudes — Minor or Moderate. 7 optics claim an improvement, 6 admit a penalty. That is a designed two-by-two rather than a stat sheet, and it is everything the game is prepared to say about how an optic performs. No numbers, no milliseconds, no handling figure.
The split tracks the short/medium line almost exactly, with one crossover: the CQ-2X Prism Combat Scope is a 2x optic that still claims a minor ADS improvement, which makes it the only magnified sight in the list that does not ask you to pay for the magnification in handling.
One tile contradicts itself and we have left it that way. The Four Reticle Reflex lists moderate ADS improvements under Pros and then opens its own description with "Slightly slower to aim". One of the two is wrong. The capture cannot say which, so both are transcribed as printed.
Two bands, and no third
The item grid filters on ALL, SHORT and MEDIUM. We only ever had ALL selected, so we never read the membership of the other two directly — what we read is a marker in each tile's corner with exactly two states, and it splits the list 6/7 along a line the tooltips confirm independently: every short-marked optic is 1.2x with a fixed zero, every medium-marked one is 1.5x or more with a numeric zeroing range. That is the basis for the two sections above, and it is an inference from the tile rather than from the tab.
There is no LONG tab. Either sniper glass is a third band that appears on weapons that can mount it, or the bands stop at medium — and since we only opened this menu on an assault rifle, we cannot tell you which.
Magazines are priced by what is in them
The AK74 drum tooltip printed a weight of 2.08 kg and no price of its own, then a CONTAINS block listing 75 rounds of FMJ (Tracer) at $113. If that generalises, a magazine purchase is an ammunition purchase wearing a capacity — which would tie this page directly to ammo prices and to the fact that the kill log names your ammo type to the person you shot. One card is not a rule, so it stays a finding rather than a mechanic — and reading 33 more magazines out of the build has not moved it, because not one of them carries a price either.
Capacity is a ladder, not a switch
The thing 33 magazines show that one could not: a weapon rarely gets a magazine. It gets a range. The MP5 carries 20, 30 and 50. The AMP-9 carries 15, 20, 30 and 50. The Super-45 carries 13, 30 and 40. So the magazine slot is a real spend decision with a low end and a high end for the same gun — and since attachment weight is previewed live against your loadout, it is a decision that competes with the scope on top of the rifle.
The spread across the whole set is 20×: 5 rounds in the mk22 5 rnd magazine against 100 in the m249 100 rnd fabric magazine. Both are magazines, in the same slot, bought against their own weapon. That gap is the clearest evidence in the data that WARDOGS is not balancing its classes around a shared ammunition budget.
Two magazines break the pattern by naming nobody. The STANAG 20 and STANAG 60 print a capacity and a calibre and stop, where every other tooltip closes with "X only" — and STANAG is the real-world name for exactly the interface a shared 5.56 magazine would use. The build agrees: those two identifiers appear against six weapons, the M4, T-21, A-91, KH-2002, M249 SAW and Bushmaster M17S. The Galil is 5.56 too and gets its own 35 and 50 instead, so the sharing is a deliberate, bounded choice rather than a property of the calibre.
One more oddity worth putting on the record. The Bushmaster M17S prints "Unable to equip attachments" on its own vendor card — and its definition names both STANAG magazines anyway. The likeliest read is that a magazine is not an "attachment" for the purposes of that sentence, and what the free recruit rifle really cannot do is open the ATTC. strip. That is a reading, not a finding. Nothing was clicked to test it.
What we still cannot tell you
Published as questions rather than quietly omitted, because the gap is the honest part of this page and it is also our capture list for the Closed Beta on 21–23 August:
- Are attachments free, or is $0 the same display fault the first weapons pass produced? Thirteen tiles all reading zero against a header balance that was never in frame. This is the one question that decides whether attachments are a spend decision at all.
- What is in slots 3 and 4? Two glyphs and nothing else. Until one is opened the loadout has four attachment slots and we can describe two.
- Is the optic list per-weapon or global? Settled far enough to act on, and not by observation. One tile reads 'AK74 only' on screen, and the file read shows weapons naming different and unequal sets of optic identifiers — the M249 names two, the MMGL names three, the M500 names none at all. So attachment lists are per-weapon and this file is one weapon's menu, not a roster. What is still open is the size of the whole optic pool: thirteen is the AK74's count, and no read so far gives the total.
- Where is LONG? The filter row offers ALL, SHORT and MEDIUM. Either a third tab exists on weapons that can mount 4x-plus glass, or the bands stop at medium and sniper optics are handled some other way.
- Do magazines always price by contents? One card, one CONTAINS block, $113 of tracer. If that generalises then magazine choice and ammunition choice are the same purchase, which would change how the economy page frames loadout cost.
- What does the ADS speed line actually cost in milliseconds? Minor and Moderate are the only magnitudes the game prints, and it prints no number behind either.
Every figure above was read off a screen in build CL-484909 on 8 August 2026, one player, one session, one faction, one rifle. How we grade what we publish is on the methodology page.
