Will WARDOGS be pay-to-win or have a battle pass?
No. Bulkhead has stated there will be no battle pass and no pay-to-win, and that cosmetics are earned by playing. A price for the game itself has not been announced, and no store or cosmetic-purchase model has been published.
No, and this one is on the record rather than being fan speculation.
Bulkhead’s own words, from its February 2026 FAQ post:
No Battlepass. No Pay to Win. No Nikki Minaj Skins. No Bullshit. Earn cosmetics by playing.
The system that replaces the battle pass is the in-game economy. Cash is earned through teamplay actions — revives, transport, spotting, objective work — and persists between matches. You can spend it on gear, or exchange it for Gold Bars, the endgame currency used for cosmetic unlocks in the Gold Market. Everything cosmetic routes through play rather than a wallet.
What is still genuinely unknown:
- The price of the game. Not announced. Steam says only that it will be “priced lower during Early Access” than at full release.
- Whether any store exists at all later. “No pay-to-win” and “earn cosmetics by playing” do not strictly rule out selling cosmetics too. Bulkhead has not published a storefront model.
The in-match cash economy is not a purchase in any case — that money is earned in matches, never bought.
