Does WARDOGS have classes?

Published Updated Data as of Season 1 · 10 Sept 2026

No fixed classes. You buy your weapons, equipment and vehicles with cash before each life, so your role is defined by what you purchased. There are six XP progression tracks, such as Medic and Pilot, but you earn them by using the relevant gear rather than by picking a class before the match.

No fixed classes. This is one of the most commonly misreported things about the game.

You buy your weapons, equipment and vehicles before each life, and your role is whatever you just spent money on. You can change it on your next spawn by buying something else. In Bulkhead's words, "roles are totally player-defined".

That is not the same as having no progression. Bulkhead has confirmed six XP tracks, with Medic and Pilot among the named ones — but you earn them by buying and using the relevant specialist gear, not by claiming a class slot before the match.

So both of these are wrong: "WARDOGS has six classes" and "WARDOGS has no roles at all". It has roles you buy into, and progression that follows what you bought.

The site's loadout hub files community builds by the job they are built for — sniper, medic, anti-vehicle, helicopter and so on — which is the closest thing WARDOGS has to a class list, and every one of them is a purchase.
