WARDOGS platformcore.dll crash

Published Data as of Season 1 · 10 Sept 2026

This one is on your machine

Turn Memory Integrity off under Core isolation, and clear two leftover registry entries if they are present.

What you see

A crash naming platformcore.dll, usually during shader compilation or shortly after launch.

Also reported as: shader compile crash · core isolation crash

Fixes, in the order worth trying

Work top to bottom and stop when the game launches. Each step is labelled with how much evidence sits behind it, so you can skip the guesses if the first ones work.

  1. 01 Turn Memory Integrity off

    Confirmed

Windows Security → Device security → Core isolation → Memory integrity. Reboot afterwards; the setting does nothing until you do.

  2. 02 Delete MpeHttpEx and MpeHttpExt from the registry, if they exist

    Reported

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\PolicyExtensions. Most machines will not have them. Back up the key before changing anything.

  3. 03 Clear the shader cache and let it rebuild

    Reported

Delete the shader cache folders, then launch through Steam so the game regenerates them from scratch.

Did this fix it for you?

About WarFixer

A community-built executable called WarFixer circulates as the answer to this crash, and it is worth being plain about why it is not linked here. It is an unsigned binary that asks for administrator rights and writes a system restore point, distributed by someone who is not accountable for what it does to your machine. Its own author labels it use-at-your-own-risk.

The three steps above are what it automates. Doing them by hand takes about two minutes, and you can see exactly what changed on your system afterwards. There is no capability it has that you do not.
