This one is not your machine

This is a ban on your account, not a fault on your PC, so verifying files, reinstalling or changing settings will not lift it. A timed ban ends on its own. If you think it is a mistake, the official route is to DM the WARDOGS Support bot on the WARDOGS Discord, which walks you through an appeal.

What you see

The game will not let you in and shows "Your account has been banned" with error code 1147405307, a Reason field (usually "Cheating") and a Time Left field that can read a number of hours or "Permanent".

What to do instead

The cause is not on your machine, so reinstalling and verifying will not reach it. These are the things that actually help while it lasts.

  1. 01 Read the Reason and Time Left fields before anything else

    The ban screen tells you what you were banned for and for how long. Both kinds turn up under the same code, 1147405307: a permanent "Cheating" ban was posted to the Steam ban-appeals board on 14 September, and a 72-hour "Cheating" ban in the WARDOGS Discord on 23 September. If Time Left shows hours, the ban lifts by itself when it runs out.

  2. 02 Do not reinstall or verify files

    A ban is a flag on your account on Bulkhead's side. Nothing on your PC is involved, so nothing you change on your PC can lift it. The launch-night wave of wrong bans on 10 and 11 September showed the same thing: Bulkhead cleared those from its end ("we have rescinded a bunch of bans"), and none of the local fixes players tried made any difference.

  3. 03 If you think it is wrong, appeal through the WARDOGS Support bot

    The #support channel in the official WARDOGS Discord says: "Appealing a game ban? DM @WARDOGS Support and it'll walk you through the process." The same channel points to support.team17.com for anything else. Include your Steam ID, which is what Team17 asked banned players for during the launch-night wave. Players appealing in the Discord also give the time of the ban and the server ID, which can only help.

  4. 04 Do not rely on the Steam ban-appeals board

    Steam Discussions has a WARDOGS Ban Appeals board and players post there. The appeals we read on it had no replies. Post there too if you like, but the Discord bot is the route Bulkhead names.

  5. 05 Know what the rules are before you appeal

    Patch 0.11 on 12 September set the rules out. Abusing cash exploits and bugs gets a timed ban whose length depends on your previous bans, plus a reset of your cash and XP to 0. Making exploit tutorials without reporting the exploit gets a permanent ban, and so does spending more than a few minutes on an XP-farming server. Trying a bug once or twice is not treated as abuse.

Error 1147405307 is the WARDOGS ban screen. It is not a connection error or a crash, and nothing on your PC caused it. The two fields on the screen tell you the rest: Reason is what the ban is for, and Time Left is either a number of hours or "Permanent".

Can you appeal a WARDOGS ban?

Yes. Bulkhead's own #support channel on Discord says to DM the WARDOGS Support bot, which walks you through the appeal. You need to be in the official WARDOGS Discord to message it. Bulkhead has not published how long appeals take or how many succeed.

Some sites give an email address and a 30-day response time for WARDOGS ban appeals. We could not find either on any Bulkhead or Team17 page, so we are not repeating them here. Use the Discord bot, which is the route Bulkhead has actually posted.

Why am I banned for cheating when I did not cheat?

Bulkhead has not said what triggers a "Cheating" ban, and we have not found it acknowledging any wrong ones since launch night. The complaints are real, though. Since 22 September players in the official Discord have been asking about cheating bans under this code that they say they did not earn, including a 72-hour one on 23 September. One player appealing on Steam on 20 September suspected the macro profiles in Logitech G HUB. Nobody has confirmed that, and Bulkhead has not named any software that triggers a ban.

If your ban is for 72 hours, the practical answer is to let it run out and appeal as well. Bulkhead has not said how long appeals take, and a timed ban may well end first.

Is this the same as the launch-night bans?

No. On 10 and 11 September a batch of players were wrongly banned the moment they picked a server. The cause was a permissions problem tied to FirstLook linking from earlier tests, Bulkhead lifted those bans itself, and the screen at the time read "Access denied - No license found".
