How big is WARDOGS?
The download is 50 GB, listed by Steam for both the minimum and recommended specs — there is no smaller option. That is separate from the map: each of the three WARDOGS maps is 256 km² (16 x 16 km), which is the size of the in-game world, not the install. Matches hold up to 100 players across three teams.
The WARDOGS download needs 50 GB free, confirmed directly on the Steam store page — and unusually, that figure is identical for both the minimum and recommended specs, so there is no smaller "low settings" install to choose. This is verified against Steam's own listing, re-checked on 23 September 2026, which matches what our system requirements page has carried since it first went live.

These are unrelated numbers that happen to get asked with the same phrase. The 50 GB is disk space for the installed game — textures, sound, code, the works. The 256 km² is the size of the in-game terrain on each of WARDOGS' three maps, measured in square kilometres of virtual ground, not gigabytes. What a match's size means for storage
None of it changes the download. What the 50 GB figure does share with match size is the reason storage is worth planning for: WARDOGS is built around three teams of up to 100 players total fighting over a destructible 256 km² map, so leave room beyond the install for patches.
