Does WARDOGS have a roadmap?
No dated feature roadmap has been published. What Bulkhead has confirmed: Early Access runs roughly 12 to 24 months, targeting 1.0 at $59.99 around September 2028, with consoles following in 2028. Season 2 starts 15 October 2026. Only one new map is planned during Early Access, and Bulkhead says players should not expect regular content drops.
No dated feature roadmap has been published. What Bulkhead has confirmed is a set of milestones and a length for Early Access, not a month-by-month plan — and it has told players to expect the effort to go into the metagame and fixes rather than a steady stream of new content.
What Bulkhead has actually confirmed
| Milestone | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access length | Roughly 12 to 24 months | Steam store page, tightened by Bulkhead |
| 1.0 target | Around September 2028 | 11 August devlog |
| 1.0 price | $59.99 | 11 August devlog |
| Console versions | Xbox and PlayStation, in 2028 | @WARDOGS, 10 September 2026 |
| Season 2 | 15 October 2026 | Steam news + X |
| New maps during Early Access | One planned | 11 August devlog |
| Content cadence | "Should not expect regular content drops" | 11 August devlog |
Steam's own listing frames the Early Access window loosely as one to two years. Bulkhead's 11 August devlog tightened that: "Wardogs has a plan and will reach full release roughly 24 months after launching into Early Access in September." That points to around September 2028 for 1.0, with the price rising in steps to $59.99 by then — see the full price breakdown for the stair-step from $39.99 today.
Consoles follow after that. On launch day, Bulkhead posted only "COMING TO CONSOLES IN 2028" — no month, no quarter, and no split between Xbox and PlayStation. That's a firmer year than the studio's March 2026 position of "we just don't know when," but still not a dated plan.
The one dated commitment: Season 2
The nearest thing to a scheduled roadmap item is Season 2, confirmed for 15 October 2026, posted by Bulkhead on the Steam news hub and mirrored on X. The exact day the Season 1 progression reset happens has not been announced yet — see our wipe FAQ for what resets and what survives a season change.
What is not planned: regular content
This is the part that separates WARDOGS from a typical live-service roadmap. Bulkhead has said directly that only one new map is planned during the entire Early Access period, with development effort instead going toward the metagame, balance and bug fixes. In its own words, framing this as a weakness rather than hiding it: "players should not expect regular content drops."
Bulkhead listed it among its own reasons not to buy, which is unusually direct. If you're deciding whether to buy into Early Access now, the full "10 Reasons NOT to Buy" breakdown covers this alongside the rest of what the studio flagged against a pre-order.
What's still unknown
Bulkhead has not published a features list for what lands between now and 1.0, has not dated the console release beyond "2028," and has not said what the "one new map" will be or when in the Early Access window it arrives. Check system requirements and the release date page for what else has and hasn't been confirmed.
