WARDOGS servers: xREALM named as a third approved host

Bulkhead added xREALM to the approved hosts a day after the first two: 60, 80 and 100-player servers from $69.99 a month in nine cities, live 10 September.

"There are others in the pipeline", Bulkhead wrote on 29 August. Ten days later the first of them has a name. At 9:00 this morning, two days before launch, the studio posted on X:

"Announcing an additional hosting partner. xREALM. Dedicated Servers are now available to pre-order. Ready for Early Access on September 10th."

That makes three companies with the server code, and nothing else about the model has moved. You rent from one of the three or you do not run a server; nobody self-hosts, and the four hosts that took pre-orders in August still cannot deliver one. xREALM's own page says it the same way: "one of only three approved hosting providers selected for the WARDOGS Early Access launch". The company is German, xREALM GmbH, and already hosts for Funcom, Stunlock and the Farming Simulator studio.

What it charges

The same three sizes as the first two, sold as Squad, Platoon and Company, in US dollars:

Size xREALM QONZER BisectHosting
60 players $69.99 a month £49.95 about $72 (reported)
80 players $79.99 £59.95 about $84 (reported)
100 players $114.99 £69.95 about $96 (reported)

Per player that is $1.17, $1.00 and $1.15 a month, so the 80-slot box is the one priced to sell and the 100 is the dearest full-match server of the three. Every size lists AMD EPYC processors, DDoS protection and "unlimited" RAM and storage, which is a way of saying the page prints no cap rather than that there is none. There is no discount for paying ahead; QONZER gives 15% for a year up front, BisectHosting 20%.

Where the boxes are

Nine cities: Frankfurt, Helsinki and Strasbourg in Europe; New York, Dallas and Los Angeles in North America; Singapore; Sydney; and São Paulo, which is the first South American server any approved host has named. Still nothing in Africa or the Middle East, from any of the three.

What does not change

The admin tool. Bulkhead's RCON panel works "regardless of their hosting platform", and its day-one limits, maps and modes and nothing in the shop, apply to an xREALM server exactly as to the other two. And the launch: a pre-order holds the box until 10 September, and nobody joins one before then.
