WARDOGS Season 3 devlog: Sabatulo map, Limited Mode, 12 Nov

Bulkhead confirms Season 3 for 12 November with a new urban map, Sabatulo, three-month seasons, unlocks on more than one role track, and a Limited Mode.

Key art of Sabatulo: a town in wooded hills at sunset with the Sabatulo Clinic hospital at its centre, soldiers on the rooftops, paratroopers dropping and a Little Bird helicopter overhead.

WARDOGS Season 3 starts on 12 November, and it is now official. Bulkhead's "Road to Season 3" post and devlog video, both published on 6 November, confirm the date and lay out the season: a new urban map called Sabatulo, seasons of three months, items you can unlock on more than one role's track, and a Limited Mode with weaker gear (Confirmed). Until now the date rested on a developer's reply to a Steam review.

The tone has changed too. The studio says Season 3 has "no social experiments" and "no reactivity", and puts stability and consistency first.

What is Sabatulo?

Sabatulo is the new Season 3 map, built around urban warfare and close-quarters combat. It is the only map Bulkhead has named in the post (Confirmed). The key art shows a town in wooded hills, with a hospital, the Sabatulo Clinic, at its centre. That fits the multi-floor hospital the team described on its Hot Zone podcast in October.

Bulkhead's pitch is that everyone learns it at the same time. The devlog says a new map, slightly longer early and mid-game progression, and a fresh wipe are the closest it can get to the feeling of the Season 1 launch. Bulkhead has not said which other maps stay in rotation. Every WARDOGS map so far →

How long is Season 3?

About three months. The devlog commits to longer, three-month seasons, with progression "more in line with the experience of season 1" (Confirmed). Bulkhead says this gives players time to reach their goals before the next wipe, and gives the team time to build the next content. Levels and cash still reset on 12 November. What resets in a wipe, and what you keep →

What went wrong with Season 2?

Bulkhead says it reacted too fast. With good intentions, the team tried to answer negative reviews with changes. On paper the Season 2 patch notes went down well. In practice, players levelled so fast that the season "ended up not feeling like a wipe", and reviews turned on how quickly others were progressing. "We were too aggressive with the changes, and that's on us," the devlog says. Bulkhead says those changes took away "the journey" that made Season 1 work. Why progression felt slow before Season 2 →

What are multi-track unlocks?

Items that suit more than one role now appear on each of those roles' unlock tracks. Until now, each item sat on a single track, so getting ammo, armour or a backpack from late in the Wardog track meant grinding roles you might never pick (Confirmed).

Bulkhead's example: a player who only flies the minigun Little Bird and wants .308 armour-piercing ammo no longer needs Wardog level 140. Playing Pilot unlocks it on the Pilot track. Bulkhead has not published which items moved to which tracks; the Season 3 patch notes should list them. Every unlock and what it costs →

This is a stopgap. Bulkhead says an entirely new progression system comes with the meta game in 2027. Intel, the Gunsmith and Skills explained →

What is Limited Mode?

An alternative way to play with fewer high-end items, so early and mid-game gear stays usable all season. The devlog gives these limits (Confirmed):

What In Limited Mode
Ammo FMJ only, as an example of limited ammo types
Armour Tier 2 at most
Vehicles A limited selection, for example no Havoc
Cash and XP Shared both ways with the default mode

The full list of limited items is still being decided. Bulkhead says Limited Mode is its answer to fights between players with very different playtime until Intel, its long-term fix for rank gaps, arrives with the meta game next year. If players like the mode, it stays in later seasons.

What else did the devlog cover?

The second half is about cheating. Bulkhead says it is banning 185,000 accounts, that 4.89% of players used cheating software, and that boosting-server owners were wiped and banned. The full ban-wave story →

What has not been announced?

  • The Season 3 patch notes. Bulkhead says a "Season 03 Patch Notes Preview" comes early next week. Until then, item lists, prices and balance changes are unknown.
  • Infrared rangefinders and tanks. On the podcast, the team said both were still open questions. The devlog does not mention either.
  • Whether Season 3 fixes everything. Bulkhead says it will not: "Early access is iterative," and the bigger meta-game updates are planned through 2027. The studio also takes December off.
