3 million copies sold, and a Golden Joystick nomination

Bulkhead says WARDOGS passed 3 million sales in two and a half weeks, and the game is up for Best Early Access Game at the Golden Joysticks.

A gleaming gold joystick-shaped trophy on the left, and on the right a soldier in desert camouflage and goggles holding a rifle over a smoking, war-torn town at golden hour, with helicopters overhead.

WARDOGS has sold 3 million copies, Bulkhead said on 26 September, two and a half weeks after Early Access opened. The same Steam post, mirrored on X, carries a second piece of news: the game is nominated for Best Early Access Game 2026 at the Golden Joystick Awards, and voting is open now at goldenjoysticks.com.

How fast the number climbed

Date Copies sold Source
10 September, launch day 1.25 million Bulkhead, Steam
15 September 2 million Bulkhead, Steam
26 September 3 million Bulkhead, Steam and X

Launch day to 2 million took five days. The next million took eleven. That is the curve you would expect once the launch rush settles, and it is still a million copies in under a fortnight.

Season 2 details next week

The post ends on the other thing players are waiting for: "We're knuckled down and working on Season 02 and beyond. More information dropping next week." Season 2 is dated for 15 October, so next week's post is likely to be the first look at what it changes, the wipe included. What we know about Season 2 so far →
