Update 0.1.2: WD-L020 fixed, exploit leniency ends

Update 0.1.2 fixes the WD-L020 crash from Windows update KB5124010, closes cash and XP exploits, ends first-offence leniency and adds a DEPLOY server menu.

WD-L020 is fixed. Bulkhead deployed Update 0.1.2 on 30 September in a maintenance window of about an hour from 08:00 UTC, announced on X two hours before. The headline fix is the launch error caused by Windows 11 update KB5124010: in the patch notes' words, "Fixed the issue caused by the latest Windows 11 update, KB5124010, causing the recent WD-L020 crashes." Update the game through Steam and you no longer need to uninstall the Windows update. The WD-L error page has the steps if it persists.

The fix lands a day after Bulkhead's CEO Joe Brammer said WD-L020, not balance, was the single biggest reason Steam reviews were falling.

Cash and XP exploits closed

  • Revives are now checked by the server, so they can no longer be abused across the map.
  • Vehicle fly-through rewards are capped.
  • Destroying a buildable pays in proportion to its build progress, so wrecking a freshly placed schematic no longer pays the full reward.
  • Pallets deposited into a FOB outside the zone pay less.

Bulkhead published no new numbers for any of these, so no price or XP figure on this site changes.

The leniency is over

Bulkhead says it expected Season 1 to have exploits nobody had found yet, and went easy on first-time offenders. Not any more: players caught abusing cash and XP exploits, "or worse Real Money Trading", have had their cash and progression reset, and repeat exploit abuse now risks a permanent ban without warning. A DEPLOY button for Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers

Hit DEPLOY and you now choose between Official, Community, Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers. Bulkhead calls it the first step in pointing players towards those servers, the problem Brammer called the studio's biggest failure since launch. Advanced filters are back on the Official list, long server names show in full on hover, and after you click Join you see your place in the queue. Server admins get scheduled daily restarts and tighter RCON controls. Community servers by region →

Also fixed

  • Grenades, smoke and C4 can no longer be thrown from enclosed vehicle seats.
  • The adaptive crosshair hides while aiming down sights.
  • Buildable crit spots no longer reappear where you just hit or jump to the far side of a structure.
  • A Havoc bug that made it take extra damage from 20mm and 30mm cannon fire is fixed.
