500,000 Steam wishlists
Half a million wishlists, five times the February figure — and enough to put WARDOGS in genuine commercial territory for a mid-size studio.
WARDOGS passed 500,000 Steam wishlists on 26 May, roughly three and a half months after the reveal.
Half a million Infantry, Medics, Pilots, Builders, Engineers… we’re building this one for YOU. WARDOGS won’t be for everyone. But for those who get it, there’s a lot more to show very soon.
For scale: the game did 100,000 in its first three days, over 200,000 inside nine days, and then took until late May to reach half a million. That deceleration is normal and not a warning sign — reveal spikes always front-load — but it does mean the curve is now driven by ongoing marketing beats rather than launch novelty.
The number matters commercially. Steam’s own guidance has long been that wishlist-to-purchase conversion runs in the single-digit percentages in the launch window, with visibility multipliers for titles that clear certain thresholds. Half a million puts WARDOGS well past the point where a publisher is deciding whether the project deserves runway.
Keep it in proportion regardless. A wishlist is a click, not a pre-order, and the conversion rate for an Early Access launch at an unannounced price is genuinely hard to predict.
