Closed Alpha ends; Bulkhead teases a "Major Announcement" for 11 August

The first WARDOGS Closed Alpha wrapped 9 August. @WARDOGS says a "Major Announcement" lands Tuesday 11 August at 16:00 UTC — content not yet known.

The first WARDOGS Closed Alpha ran 7–9 August and has now ended. Bulkhead has not posted anything about it to the Steam news hub — as with the alpha’s start, the news broke on X first.

A post from @WARDOGS reads: “The Closed Alpha has now ended. Major Announcement | Tuesday 11th | 16:00 UTC. Play like you used to.” This is Reported, not Confirmed — it was read via a third-party outlet quoting the post rather than loaded directly. What the announcement actually contains has not been stated. Outlets are guessing it covers the next playtest wave or an Early Access date; treat any such claim as speculation until Bulkhead says it.

Two things remain genuinely unresolved. Whether the alpha’s content NDA has lifted is unclear — searches turn up only the earlier pre-alpha embargo lift, not one specific to this Closed Alpha, so do not treat alpha footage as clear to publish yet. And feedback from the weekend is split: alongside positive creator impressions, a Steam Discussions thread collecting complaints about dated visuals, oversized maps and clunky movement grew from 20 replies to 30 over the weekend.
